Fulani attacks: Governor Suswam’s security adviser, nine others killed

The General Officer Commanding the Tiv militia group, O. Orwamga, and nine others have been reported killed during attacks by Fulani herdsmen in Benue State.
Seven others have also been declared missing following the attacks.
Orwamga, the coordinator of the Tiv militia group in charge of the Benue-Nasarawa Border Patrol, popularly called Soja Patali, was also the Liaison Officer to Governor Gabriel Suswam on Security Matters.
Sources confirmed to The Eagle Online that Orwamga and four others were captured in a village near Ukpam in Guma Local Government Area by heavily armed Fulani marauders on Tuesday.
The Eagle Online reports that those missing was a source of concern for citizens of the state, which prompted the youths to embark on a rescue mission.
It was in the process of the reuse mission that the bodies of the dead were discovered on Thursday morning.
In the same vein, the people of Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue State had a sleepless night on Wednesday following the fresh attack that took place in Tongov clan of the area.
Francis Kyol, who spoke with The Eagle Online, said sophisticated weapons were used by the assailants.
Part of the weapons was suspected to be chemical in nature.
Kyol told The Eagle Online: “All these five people killed and brought to Naka had no proof of bullet wound or any cut.
“So we suspect that they used chemical weapons on them.”
