Steve Cooper has praised new signing Ola Aina after the defender’s first appearance for the Reds.
The 26-year-old, a recent arrival from Italian side Torino, played well against PSV Eindhoven at the Philips Stadion on Sunday.
Aina was substituted at half-time for Neco Williams as he continues to build on his match fitness in pre-season.
And Cooper has called the former Chelsea man’s first minutes in a Reds shirt “excellent”, whilst highlighting the importance of having as many players available as possible for Forest’s pre-season games ahead of their Premier League opener against Arsenal on Saturday, August 12.

The more the players start and the more we can have available for games then the better so it was really important to get Ola on the pitch,” he told Forest TV.
“I thought he was excellent by the way, some really good moments and Morgan as well to get back into the speed of things in the first half. Tired a little bit in the second half but that’s pretty normal.
“We’ve just got to keep building our way with a lot of individual progress, to try and get ourselves in a position in a couple of weeks where we’re good to go.”
