The Federal Government on Tuesday sacked the heads of the major parastatals of the Ministry of Aviation.
The affected parastatals were the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority and the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology.
Sacked in NAMA was Nnamdi Udoh; Captain Chinyere Kalu was axed from NCAT, Fola Akinkuotu was removed from NCAA; and George Uriesi in FAAN.
A statement on Tuesday by Sam Nwaobasi, the Special Assistant on Media to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, said that Saleh Dumona, the Director of Projects in FAAN, is to replace Uriesi as the Managing Director.
Also, the General Manager, Procurements, NAMA, Ibrahim Abdulsalam, is to replace Udoh as Managing Director.
The Government Safety Inspector and International Civil Aviation Organisation Focal Point for Nigeria online Aircraft Safety Information Systems, Captain Akinyele Caulcrick, takes over from Kalu as Rector of NCAT.
The Commissioner, Accident Investigation and Prevention Bureau, Captain Muhktar Usman, is to replace Akinkuotu as the Director-General of the NCAA.
Benedict Adeyileka is to act as the DG of the NCAA pending Usman’s confirmation by the Senate.
The Director of Licensing in NCAA, Dr. Felix A. Abali, is to replace Captain Muhktar Usman as Commissioner in the AIPB.
Tony Anuforo retains his position as the Director-General of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency.
