The Federal Government has declared December 25 and 26, 2012 and January 1, 2013 as public holidays to commemorate the Christmas, Boxing Day and New Year celebrations.
A statement, signed by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Interior, Anasthesia Nwaobia, on Monday, said the Minister of Interior, Abba Moro, declared the holidays on behalf of the Federal Government.
Moro enjoined Nigerians, irrespective of their religious beliefs, to imbibe and emulate the spirit of the season as enunciated by love, joy, peace, justice and kindness.
He wished all Nigerians a blissful and peaceful celebration.
