The Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has expressed deep grief and sympathy with families of the four consultants to the World Bank, who drowned in Egbe Dam, Egbe-Ekiti in Gbonyin Local Government Area of Ekiti State on Wednesday.
The deceased were part of a team from Development Dam and Irrigation Scheme, Kaduna State carrying out an assessment of the dam when the unfortunate incident occurred.
Fayemi, who noted the importance of the turnaround of the dam as part of the World Bank water project in the state, however said the death of the four consultants during the assignment was quite unfortunate and painful.
“My heart and prayers go to the families of the deceased, as we share in their grief,” the Minister said in a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media, Olayinka Oyebode.
“We pray that God comforts their families and grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.”, he added.
