Expert promises free medicals for ex-Rangers

In a bid to help solve some of the health challenges confronting footballers at their later stages in life, a health expert with over three decades of practice in physiotherapy, Dr. Chike Chuka, has promised to provide free physiotherapy treatments to all members of ex-Rangers International Footballers Association.
Chuka made this promise at the association’s monthly meeting held mid-week in Enugu.
An ardent follower of the Flying Antelopes, Dr. Chuka, who was enveloped with emotions as he met with some of the great members of the club at the meeting, thanked them for giving their all to see that Rangers attained the heights it deserved in the committee of football playing clubs.
He said: “Sincerely, I am most privileged to be amongst you all that fought for the survival of our great club, Rangers.
“You all fought with passion, doggedness, pride and above all with the last drop of blood in your system to ensure that Rangers International FC becomes a house-hold name all over the world.
“We all know that after all the wear and tear of the game, the body is not always the same, so, I, members of my family and professional colleagues have come to a conclusion to provide free physiotherapy treatment to all members of this association as our own way of saying thank you for your services.”
Responding, Chairman of the association and General Manager of Rangers International FC, Prince Davidson Owumi, thanked the doctor for his magnanimity, stressing: “We are indeed very glad with this gesture, which I believe will go a long way in assuaging some of the health challenges our members go through.
“We can’t thank you, Dr. Chike Chuka, enough for this as posterity will have a place for you.
“Let me use this opportunity to call on other well meaning individuals and professionals to show members of our association some love just as we won’t fail to recognize the efforts of Anambra and Enugu state governments in the welfare of members.”
Modalities for assessing the treatment has been worked out by the executive of the association as treatment will commence in batches of four members each month at the doctor’s health facility located in Enugu.
