The Executive Secretary of Odiolowo/Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area of Lagos State, Hon. Rasak Olusola Ajala, has called on the newly sworn-in members of the council’s caretaker committee to see their appointment as a call to serve the people of the council area.
Ajala spoke on Tuesday during the swearing-in ceremony of the caretaker committee members, which took place at the council secretariat at Ilupeju.
The council boss stated that their choice to steer the affairs of the council is just a grace of God as there are many qualified people who have not been chosen not because they are not good but because there are few places to fill.
“It therefore behoves on us all to see our appointments as a task to toil for our highly expectant people, a people we are blessed with no option than to serve,” he said.
Ajala expressed gratitude to the leadership of his party, the All Progressives Congress at the ward, local and state levels, particularly the party’s National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu; the state Governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN); and the state APC Chairman, Otunba Henry Ajomale, among others for considering him and his colleagues worthy of being saddled with the task of steering the affairs of the council.
Ajala also warned that his administration will not condone multiple and unapproved taxes and levies by any staff of the council on innocent members of the public.
He said the legally gazetted and approved revenue points, levies and dues by the state government must strictly be adhered to.
Those sworn-in at the event were: Olayinka Otolorin Falade, Funsho Amodu, Morenikeji Awodogan and Kosoko Rafiu Abolade.
