It is slated to kick off on Thursday at the Eagle Club in Surulere, Lagos.
The Chairman of the Main Organising Committee, Godson Uti, said the Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola, would be joined by the other top ex-footballers at the four day fiesta.
According to Uti, prominent former players such as Henry Nwosu, Friday Ekpo, Jonathan Akpoborie, Garba Lawal, Patrick Pascal, Victor Agali, Godwin Opara, Gbenga Okunowo and Baldwin Bazuaye will entertain fans at the fiesta.
Uti also disclosed that hostilities will commence among the various state chapters and will reach its peak on Saturday with the final and Gala Nite, also at Eagle Club same day.
In the same vein, the Lagos All Stars spokesman, Mojeed Adegbindin, revealed that Veterans Cup, which is in its eighth year, is aimed at fostering friendship and healthy interactions among Nigeria’s former stars, adding that this edition is organised to celebrate an illustrious member and outgoing governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN).
“Governor Fashola has contributed immensely to the growth of sports, especially in football, and we felt he should be celebrated,” Adegbindin stated.
