EPL: Sala-less Cardiff battles Bournemouth

Cardiff face Bournemouth this evening in their first home match since the disappearance of the airplane carrying Emiliano Sala and pilot David Ibbotson.
Cardiff will pay respect to Sala and Ibbotson before kick-off at the Cardiff City Stadium with a series of tributes.
Warnock says strikers were reluctant to sign for Cardiff following Emiliano Sala’s disappearance.
Both captains will lay floral tributes and there will be a minute’s reflection for the missing pair.
“Whatever the families want or think, we’ll adhere to that,” Neil Warnock said. “We have had to get back to playing. And once we get this weekend out the way and we can move on, we have to regroup.”
Cardiff remain in the bottom three ahead of the game against Bournemouth and Warnock says the players need to respond to the 2-1 midweek defeat at Arsenal.
He added: “We have to come up with a formula to get points on the board. People will write us off and quite rightly so.
“Other clubs have players like (Solomon) Rondon and (Alexander) Mitrovic, doing what they are doing, but we don’t have one of them. So it is more difficult for us, we have to make our own luck now and really have a go.”
Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has challenged his side to make their impressive win over Chelsea a turning point to push back up the Premier League table.
The Cherries produced a fine display to see off Maurizio Sarri’s men 4-0 at the Vitality Stadium on Wednesday night, which was a second successive league victory.
“Tough games on the horizon but I think they always are in the Premier League. I never see an easy schedule,” Howe said.
“The win against Chelsea will hopefully launch us into a new feeling that we can beat and compete against the top six.”
