Super Eagles’ safest pair of hands, Vincent Enyeama, has been listed as among the top eleven stars of the season in Ligue 1 unveiled by the French newspaper, L’Equipe.
The Nigerian international has achieved a remarkable year with varying success, with Lille clinching a preliminary place in the Champions League.
Enyeama made headlines all weekends and won for himself the title of Marc-Vivien Foe for the best African player in Ligue 1.
He is also one of the architects of the third place of Mastiffs.
Enyeama is in goal, with the four defensive positions in front of him assigned to Serge Aurier (Toulouse), Simon Kjaer (Lille), Thiago Silva (PSG) and Pape N’diaye Square (Lille).
The midfield, like the defence, is also littered with foreigners, but two Frenchmen made the cut: Fabien Lemoine (St Etienne), Thiago Motta (PSG) Romain Hamouma (St Etienne) and James Rodriguez (Monaco), make up the four-man midfield with the two St Etienne men the only French players.
The PSG pair of Edinson Cavani and Zlatan Ibrahimovic in attack, complete the team.
The three Africans in the team are: Enyeama (Nigeria), Aurier (Ivory Coast) and N’diaye (Senegal).
