Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, has denied rumors of him joining the Peoples Democratic Party. In a statement shared on his verified X account, El-Rufai described the reports as “patent lies and rumors” about his political affiliation.
“Please disregard the patent lies and rumours about my political affiliation. I have referred the lead peddlers of the fake news for further action by my lawyers,” he wrote on his X handle
He warned the public to disregard the fake news and announced that he has referred the matter to his lawyers for further action against those peddling the false information.
As a founding member of the All Progressives Congress, El-Rufai has been a prominent figure in Nigerian politics, having served as the governor of Kaduna State from 2015 to 2023. His denial of joining the PDP puts to rest speculation about his potential defection to the opposition party.
El-Rufai’s statement is a clear indication that he remains committed to his political ideology and will not be swayed by rumors or misinformation.
