Eko Disco receives technical equipment from Power Africa

The Eko Electricity Distribution Company says it has received some technical equipment aimed at boosting the logistical and technical foundation of the company from Power Africa.
The Chairman of EKEDC, Charles Momoh, while receiving the equipment at the headquarters of EKEDC in Marina, Lagos, expressed satisfaction on the positive outcome of the partnership between the two bodies.
Momoh, in a statement by Godwin Idemudia, the General Manager, Corporate Communications, EKEDC, in Lagos on Wednesday said, Power Africa is a United States Government-led initiative coordinated by the United States Agency for International Development.
The chairman said that aim of the assistance was to double electricity access in sub-Saharan Africa.
Momoh said that the choice of Eko Disco as one of the four Distribution Companies for the Power Africa partnership “will go a long way in building a new culture of excellence which had been the focus of the core investors’’.
The chairman said that the partnership had already added much value and produced real dividends.
Momoh said: “The equipment supplied will support the attainment of performance-improvement goals of the partnership.
“Two state-of-the-art Zera Test Systems are among the equipment provided and are designed to help reduce Aggregate Technical, Commercial and Collection losses in the company.
“Apart from the test systems, other equipment expected to be supplied include 200 DT statistic meters with all accessories which includes switchers and boxes to boost metering efficiency and billing accuracy.
“Also, one bucket truck to boost operational efficiency in overhead line tracing and fault clearing.”
