Former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has been declared the winner of Saturday’s governorship election in the state by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Fayose, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, polled 203,090 votes to defeat the incumbent and candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Dr. Kayode Fayemi of the All Progressives Congress, who scored 120,433 votes.
According to the Returning Officer and Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye Ekiti, Prof. Isaac Azuzu: “Ayodele Peter Fayose of PDP, having certified the requirement of the law and scored the highest number of votes, is hereby declared the winner and is returned elected.”
