The Etsu-Nupe of Warri and its environs, Alhaji Zuberu Tajudeen, has urged Nigerians to embrace peace in the forthcoming general elections.
The Etsu-Nupe, who spoke with journalists shortly after the Tuesday’s Sallah prayer in Warri, said Nigeria needed peace at this crucial moment to have a successful election.
Tajudeen who is also the Chairman, Advisory Council on Non-indigenes to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta, advised politicians not to see the election as a do-or-die affair.
He said: “We need to pray for our country today in the Mosque; we pray for peace in the forthcoming elections; that there should be peace among all the people created by God.
“Whoever God has chosen to be there must be there. Let us not kill ourselves for one another. I pray by the grace of God, the elections will be peaceful and memorable.”
Tajudeen also called on the federal government to improve on the security apparatus of the country in order to promote peace and unity.
