The Punch is reporting that a former Governor of Imo State, Chief Ihedi Ohakim, has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
Ohakim, according to the newspaper, was arrested on Thursday.
The former governor was reported to have spurned an invitation by the commission for interrogation on Wednesday, hence the decision to arrest him on Thursday.
Ohakim has been accused of embezzling state funds when he served as governor between 2007 and 2011.
The EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, The Punch said, confirmed arrest of Ohakim.
