Disregard panic buying of petrol, we have enough stock – PPMC

The Pipelines and Products Marketing Company says it has enough stock of petrol and advised Nigerians to disregard the current panic buying in some fuel stations across the country.
Justine Ezeala, PPMC’s Executive Director of Commercial, made the appeal at a news conference in Abuja on Friday.
Ezeala said given the openness and transparent nature of PPMC, it was important to let Nigerians know the true situation of fuel supply in the country.
According to him, the pockets of fuel queues in some fuel stations is uncalled for and Nigerians have no reason to queue.
Ezeala said that 656.376 million litres of petrol had been supplied to various fuel stations in the country.
According to him the supply comprised of stocks from PPMC depots, Throughport depots, Marine stock and Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria.
He explained that the PPMC depots supplied 66.811 million litres of petrol, while PPMC Throughport depots supplied 117.483 million.
He said Marine stocks made available 427.970 million litres of petrol, while MOMAM supplied 44.111 million litres.
The PPMC executive director said in a bid to consolidate the current stock of fuel for the Yuletide, additional 756,990,488.16 litres fuel stock was being expected at the end of November.
Ezeala said the expected petrol stocks included the PPMC fuel import of 380.99 million litres and 376 million litres from other oil marketers.
Ezeala gave daily dispatch of petrol to various PPMC depots in the country as at November 12 to include 4,397,288 litres to Suleja depot, which also serves the Federal Capital Territory; Kaduna depot, with 1,518,989 litres; Kano Depot, 2,754,125 litres; Minna, 299,992 litres; and Gusau, 795,001 litres.
He said Mosimi, comprising of some parts of Lagos State and the South West, received 2,975,990 litres, while Satellite Town depot, also in Lagos, got 1,609,960 litres.
Ezeala said Ilorin received 636,992 litres, Ore 365,000 litres, Ibadan 529,955 litres, Gombe 2,101,742 litres and Benin 1,375,993 litres.
Port Harcourt received 1,151,811 litres of petrol, Aba 1,157,992 litres, Markurdi 840,951 litres and Enugu 1,399,716 litres.
Ezeala called on the Department of Petroleum Resources to continue its enforcement drive to check activities of fuel operators who hoarded the product to create artificial scarcity.
He also said PPMC was also carrying out its enforcement drive to discourage panic buying of fuel.
