The corpse of Cynthia Osokogu, the lady murdered by her Facebook friends in Festac area of Lagos State, may be released to her family for burial on Monday.
A top police source told The Eagle Online that though pathologists were still conducting the mandatory postmortem on Osokogu’s corpse as at Saturday afternoon, there were indications that the process would be completed by Sunday.
The source said that the medical authorities in charge of the postmortem have promised to hand over the corpse to the police on Sunday.
The police will then do the formal handing over of Osokogu’s remains to her family on Monday.
The initial arrangement of the Osokogu family was to bury her on September 8.
This failed because the authorities said the postmortem was yet to be completed.
However, other aspects of the funeral service went on as scheduled.
Osokogu’s father, Frank, a retired Army General, said the family would lay her to rest anytime the corpse was released.
He said anyone who had the opportunity to attend the ceremony could do so.
