The Olomu of Omupo, Oba Yakub Buari, says he supports the Kwara State Government’s efforts toward containing the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic and the palliative measures to cushion its effect on Nigerians.
The monarch gave his support in a statement by Dr. Monisoye Afolabi, the National President of Omupo Descendants Union, in Ilorin on Saturday.
He commended Kwara State Governor, AbdulRasaq AbdulRahman, his Team and other bodies on COVID-19 across the state for the proactive guidelines put in place.
He stated that their work in ensuring excellent health services in Omupo Cottage Hospital and in the town and the state at large was commendable.
Buari urged all citizens of Kwara State, especially indigenes and residents of Omupo, to keep safe, while praying that God safeguard everyone.
The monarch also extended special appreciation to the ODU Health Services Committee, headed by Dr. Ismail Bakare, and his team for their wonderful response initiatives to safeguard the people of Omupo from the pandemic.
He also prayed “that we shall all survive the crisis together in joy and to the glory of God”.
He urged all indigenes and residents of the “great city” to be calm and remain guided with all established precautions.
