The Bauchi State Government has directed Civil Servants on GL 12 and below to work from home, with effect from March 25 until further notice.
Alhaji Abubakar Ma’aji, Bauchi State Head of Civil Service, made the announcement in a statement issued by Umar Said, Information Officer in the Office of the Head of Service.
The statement was made available to newsmen on Tuesday in Bauchi.
Ma’aji said staff on GL 13 and above are to continue with their normal duties.
He named health and security personnel among essential staff that were to report to work during the period to sustain coordination of effective service delivery.
Ma’aji said the measure became necessary considering that 44 Nigerians, including Governor Bala Muhammed of the state, had tested positive to the Coronavirus.
“We urge citizens to observe necessary precautions during interaction; there should be minimal contact among people,” he said.
