Nigeria on Monday recorded 70 new cases of the Coronavirus Disease without any fatality.
This makes it the eighth straight day the country has not recorded any death from the pandemic.
According to the data made available by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on its Twitter handle, five States, led by Lagos, accounted for the 70 new infections.
Lagos State, the epicentre of the virus, which spread to the country on February 27, 2020, accounted for 27 of the 70 new infections.
It was followed by Kaduna and Ondo States, which both recorded 16 new cases each, and Yobe State with six and Bauchi State, five.
With the 70 new cases on Monday, Nigeria has now had 164,303 confirmed COVID-19 infections, with 154,384 successfully treated and discharged and 2,061 deaths.
