A Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday struck out the two-count charge of non-asset declaration suit filed by the Federal Government against two brothers, Ibrahim and Tijani Tumsah at the Federal High Court, Abuja.
At the resumed hearing on Tuesday, a prosecuting counsel from the chambers of Festus Keyamo (SAN), told the court that they were under instruction to withdraw the matter.
The trial judge, Justice Nnamdi Dimgba subsequently, struck out the matter since there was no objection from the defence team.
Keyamo told the News Agency of Nigeria in a telephone conversation that they were re-investigating the matter adding that the prosecution’s next move would soon be made public.
NAN recalls that Ibrahim and Tijani, who worked with the Federal Ministry of Power, Works and Housing, were arraigned on February 8.
They were arraigned by the Special Presidential Investigation Panel for the Recovery of Public Property.
The panel filed the charge on behalf of the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN).
The duo were arraigned for allegedly refusing and neglecting to declare their assets to the special panel.
They pleaded not guilty and were admitted to bail in the sum of N20 million and two sureties in like sum.
