An Ikeja Magistrates’ Court has ordered the remand of a 35-year-old man, Henry Hensan, in the Nigerian Correctional Service facility for sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl.
The Presiding Chief Magistrate, O.A Layinka, did not take Hensan’s plea.
She ordered that the case file should be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions for advice.
She adjourned the case until March 28, pending the DPP’s advice.

Ihieme submitted that the defendant defiled the victim by using his finger to penetrate her privates.
Ihieme said the offence contravened section 261 Criminal Laws of Lagos State (2015).
The offence is punishable with life imprisonment according to Lagos State laws.
