An Abuja High Court has acquitted a former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, of charges of abuse of office.
El-Rufai was accused by the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission of using his ministerial position to revoke a plot of land originally owned by the Power Holding Company of Nigeria Plc.
He allegedly re-awarded the plot of land to his wife, Hadiza Ahmed.
He had been on trial since 2008.
