Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers has called on Christians to use this year’s Christmas season to promote love, peace and unity.
Wike, who made the call in a Christmas message issued on Thursday in Port Harcourt, urged Christian faithful to remain committed to the worthy ideals exemplified by the birth of Jesus Christ.
He advised the people of the state to use the season to deepen their faith in God, stating that He had solutions to all societal challenges.
The governor assured residents that his administration, in collaboration with all security agencies, would ensure peaceful and hitch-free yuletide celebrations.
He advised well-meaning individuals in the state to use the season to reach out to the less-privileged, as a measure of deepening friendship and communal living.
