Catholic e-school grants 300 IDP children scholarship

The Praxis Catholic e-School says it will offer full scholarship to 300 internally displaced children in the Federal Capital Territory and Nasarawa State.
Ben Onwudinjo, the Proprietor and Chief Executive of the school, made this known in statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja on Wednesday.
Onwudinjo said that the children would be awarded the scholarship at the National Colloquium on the Education of Children of Internally Displaced Persons in Abuja on December 9.
Onwundinjo said: “One of the major highlights of the national event will be the matriculation and presentation of certificates of award of full scholarships by the Praxis Catholic e-School.
“This is to more than 300 brilliant college children of internally displaced persons from Borno, Yobe and Adamawa States selected from 14 IDP camps located in Abuja and Nasarawa States.
“Out of over 10,000 eligible children in need of urgent education, from those particular camps.’’
According to him, the event also flags off the most important support to President Muhammadu Buhari towards rebuilding the North East already ravaged by Boko Haram insurgency through critical human resource development.
The proprietor said that Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State would give the keynote lecture at the event scheduled to hold at Zuma Hall, Rockview Hotels Royale Abuja.
He said the governor would speak on the theme: “Change and Changing Nigeria: The Imperatives of Public Private Partnership in the Education of Children of Internally Displaced Persons in Nigeria’’.
He said: “His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, was chosen for this arduous task due to the depth of his intellectual disposition and versatility.
“He is a silent achiever and always kindly disposed to the cause of the downtrodden in the society.’’
Onwudinjo said those expected at the event are representatives of the President, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Presidential Committee on North East Initiative, state governors and ministers.
Others include members of the National Assembly, National Security Adviser, Heads of government agencies, the organised private sector, stakeholders and the media.
