President Goodluck Jonathan is holding a crucial closed doors meeting with the leadership of the National Assembly over the 2013 budget.
The executive and legislature are at loggerheads over some aspects of the 2013 budget passed late last year.
The President has refused to assent to the Bill, claiming there are grey areas that must be sorted out.
The National Assembly members are accused of inflating constituency projects and inserting same in the passed budget.
As at the time of filling this report, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal; his Deputy, Emeka Ihediora; and the House Leader, Mrs. Mulikat Akande, had arrived the venue, the First Lady’s Wing of the Presidential Villa.
The meeting is also being attended by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Anyim Pius Anyim; the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala; and the Director General, Budget Office, Bright Okogwu.
However, as at 9.25 when newsmen were sent out of the hall, the meeting billed for 9pm had not commenced.
