Breaking: Senegalese troops enter Gambia to instal Barrow as president

Troops from Senegal have entered The Gambia in furtherance of the mandate of the Economic Community of West African States to enthrone Adama Barrow as the president of the country.
Barrow was sworn in as the president of The Gambia at the Gambian Embassy in Senegal.
This followed the refusal of Yahya Jammeh to relinquish power after losing in a December 1, 2016 presidential election to Barrow.
Sequel to this, ECOWAS mandated its military to flush out Jammeh, with Nigeria contributing the air component of the attack.
A strong contingent of the Nigerian Air Force arrived in Senegal on Wednesday.
Senegalese Army spokesman, Colonel Abdou Ndiaye, confirmed the storming of The Gambia by the force.
In his inauguration speech, Barrow ordered all members of The Gambia’s armed forces to remain in their barracks.
“Those found illegally holding arms will be considered rebels,” he said.
