Gunshots were on Monday reported at the US Capitol complex.
According to reports, police and fire officials in DC are responding to a report of shots fired at the visitor’s centre at the complex, which houses the federal legislature of the country.
An e-mail was said to have been sent to US Senate staff saying: “Gunshots have been reported.”
The mail asked the workers to shelter in place.
