Uduak Akpan has pleaded guilty to the murder of the slain Akwa Ibom job seeker, Iniobong Umoren, who was lured out of her home with a fake job interview, Premium Times is has reported.
Akpan is standing trial before a State High Court in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.
Umoren was raped and killed in April on the outskirts of Uyo by Akpan who the police in Akwa Ibom State described as a serial rapist.
Her remains were buried in a shallow grave in Akpan’s family house where the crime took place.
Akpan, who is being arraigned alongside his father, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge of rape.
The case is being prosecuted by the Akwa Ibom State government.
