A former Military Administrator of Oyo State, General Tunji Olurin (retd), is dead.
Information has it that Olurin died at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital in the early hours of Saturday.
The former Military Administrator of Ekiti State from October 8, 2006 to April 27, 2007 during the Emergency Rule declared by former President Olusegun Obasanjo, sources said, succumbed to the effect of Coronavirus Disease.
The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in 2011, hailed from Ilaro in Ogun West Senatorial District of Ogun State.
Olurin was born on December 3, 1944 in Ilaro, Ogun State.
He was Military Governor of Oyo State in 1985.
He also served as the Force Commander of the ECOMOG from 1992 to 1993 during the Liberian Civil War.
He then retired from service in 1993.
The deceased’s brother, Funso Olurin, has confirmed the death of his brother.
Funso said Olurin died after a brief illness.
