Nigeria’s former Minister of Finance, Mallam Adamu Ciroma, is dead, the News Agency of Nigeria is reporting via its nan.ng portal.
Ciroma was 84.
He was said to have died in Abuja on Thursday during a protracted illness.
Ciroma is a founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party.
He served as Minister of Finance during the regime of former President Olusegun Obasanjo from 1999 to 2003.
He was also a former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
His wife, Maryam Ciroma, was also a former PDP National Woman Leader.
