All the five Emirs in Kano State have been sacked.
This followed the repeal of the law by which they were appointed by the Kano State House of Assembly on Thursday.
The Majority Leader of the Kano State House of Assembly, Lawal Hussaini Chediyar Yan Gurasa, confirmed the development.
Gurasa said after plenary on Thursday the state has no single emir at the moment following the repeal of the Kano State Emirs (Appointment and Deposition) Law by the Assembly.
The Majority Leader sponsored the motion for the repeal of the law, which former Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje assented to on December 5, 2019.
The Eagle Online recalls that the law established five emirates in the state instead of the single Kano Emirate with four District Heads assisting the Emir of Kano.

The Emirates were Kano, Bichi, Gaya, Rano and Karaye.
According to available information as at press time, Governor Abba Yusuf is expected to assent to the bill any time from now.
