Despite being left out of World Cup squad, Academica de Coimbra of Portugal midfielder, John Ogu, believes the Super Eagles are capable of creating upsets in Brazil.
Ogu, who is back in the country after a horrendous season in Europe, opined that the African champions have the qualities to challenge for the top prize.
His words: “I have been a part of the team for while now and I know the qualities in there. We have good players that can win the trophy for Nigeria. I believe all they require is our support for them to bring us the glory.
“Just as we have talented footballers, the team is also blessed with great coaches that will encourage you to give your best.
“For me, Stephen Keshi is the father of all. We have so much respect for him and we are always ready to make him proud and I’m sure all the guys in the team are willingly to do it again just like they did at the Nations Cup.”
Speaking further, the erstwhile Almeria B star said there was no hard feelings over his exclusion from the Super Eagles World Cup squad.
Ogu said he has shifted focus to assisting the country qualify for the 2015 Nations Cup in Morocco.
