The Anglican Bishop of Ekiti Oke Diocese, Most Rev. Isaac Olubowale, on Saturday called on politicians to always render selfless service to humanity to have a glorious end.
The cleric gave the advice at the burial service in honour of a former Acting-Governor of Ekiti State, Hon. Friday Aderemi, at Ayetoro-Ekiti, Ido/Osi Local Government Area in Ekiti State.
Olubowale urged politicians to be modest in their lifestyles, build a legacy of trust and good conduct that could serve as a guide to the coming generations.
The Bishop reminded the living that “as there is life after death, one should also keep good records that will make people not to forget such a person easily”.
The Bishop described Aderemi, who was also former Speaker of the State House of Assembly, as a man who was not materialistic in spite of the sensitive positions he held.
Speaking at the occasion, Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State eulogised the deceased for his simplicity, saying that the state and the country would not forget his legacies in a short time.
Fayemi urged the bereaved family to take solace in the fact that late Aderemi lived an exemplary life worthy of emulation.
The state government and the state House of Assembly had on February 21 held separate special sessions in honour of the deceased in Ado Ekiti.
