Black Stars of Ghana skipper, Asamoah Gyan, was at the stand in Al Ain City Stadium, United Arab Emirates to cheer the Golden Eaglets as they batter their Iranian counterparts 4-1 in the Round of 16 at the ongoing FIFA Under-17 World Cup, UAE 2013.
Baby Jet, as he is fondly referred to by his admirers, plays for Al Ain Football Club in the UAE Pro-League, received a thunderous applause when he was sighted at the stadium.
Gyan’s love and affinity for Nigerian football and players knows no bounds as most of his pals are present and past Super Eagles players.
The striker spends most of his holidays in Lagos, Jos and Abuja with Cardiff City’s striker, Peter Osaze Odemwingie, and Chelsea midfielder, John Obi Mikel.
The former Sunderland of England star, who broke into the Black Stars team at age 17, is also known for his passion for music and dance steps after scoring goals for club and country.
Meanwhile, Gyan will miss the Golden Eaglets next game as the Manu Garba-tutored lads travel to Sharjah for their quarterfinal showdown against Uruguay on Saturday.
