A Nigerian soldier stationed in Maiduguri, Borno State has reportedly been detained by the Nigeria Army after a video of him claiming he earns N50,000 went viral.
In the video that went viral, the soldier was captured lamenting how he had spent a year in the bush.

He added that he was given a pass to visit his family, but could not due to the hike in cost of transportation.
According to the soldier, the trip was unaffordable on his monthly salary, which he claimed is N50,000.
He said: “I was told at the motor park that the transport fare to my town was N35,000, meaning that the trip would cost me N70,000 to and fro.”
Reports showed that the soldier has been detained by the Military, which described the video as embarrassing to army authorities.
