The All Progressives Grand Alliance has announced the adoption of Labour Party gubernatorial candidate in Oyo State, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala, for the February 28 election.
The adoption is coming few days after the Oyo State chapter of the Unity Party of Nigeria
also adopted Alao-Akala as its candidate.
Speaking with newsmen at a meeting in Bodija area of Ibadan in Oyo State, the Chairman of the UPN in Oyo State, Alhaji Moshood Agboola, said: “The decision to adopt Alao-Akala has been communicated to the national leaders of the party.”
Agboola added: “We decided to adopt Alao-Akala as our gubernatorial candidate based on his antecedents and achievements while in office and we are convinced that his second coming will be more fruitful and beneficial to all and sundry in the state.
“We have structures and financial wherewithal to participate in the elections but we decided to adopt the LP candidate because the party’s programme is in line with ours.”
