The Ogun State Police Command has said it is investigating the call logs of the late Apagun Oluwole Olumide in furtherance of its investigation into the death of the late businessman.
Olumide, the chairman, Golf Resort Hotel, died in circumstances that remain controversial.
He was found dead in the artificial lake of the Golf Resort Hotel on Saturday.
But he arrived there on Friday with his driver, who declared him missing that same day though his body was not recovered until Saturday morning.
The spokesman of the Ogun State Police Command, Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said the police has started work on the investigation of the call logs to determine if there was more to the death of Olumide.
Adejobi said: “We have some information about SMS or messages sent out by the chief before his death. So, we are working on it to make sure we get the call logs of the High Chief to know how far it’s true.
“We have information at hand but we need to have expert opinion too to professionally or scientifically prove that it’s true.
“We have seen some of these messages; we still want to get to the service providers to download the transaction of the deceased before he died.”
