The Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, is insisting that autopsy must be carried out on the remains of Apagun Oluwole Olumide, before burial.
This followed suspicions by the Ogun State Government that Olumide was murdered and not that he committed suicide as being alluded.
In this regard, Amosun, it was learnt, has sent riot policemen to the mortuary of the Neuro Psychiatric Hotel, Abeokuta, Ogun State, where the remains of Olumide had been since Saturday morning when it was recovered from the artificial lake by the Golf Resort Hotel, to prevent the family of from having access to it.
As exclusively reported by The Eagle Online on Sunday, Olumide’s family is planning to bury his remains this morning without carrying out an autopsy to determine the actual cause of death.
It was gathered that the members of Olumide’s family, who are at present at the mortuary, are insisting on going ahead with the burial.
They are reportedly accusing the Ogun State Government of playing politics with the death of Olumide.
The situation at the mortuary is reported to be tensed but the riot policemen drafted to ensure the body is not taken away are standing their grounds.
