Aliyu appoints NAN editor DG, Public Affairs

Governor Babangida Aliyu of Niger State on Thursday appointed Malam Tanko Dada, the Bureau Chief of the News Agency of Nigeria in the state, as his Director-General, Public Affairs.
Dada’s appointment was contained in a statement in Minna, signed by Israel Ebije, the Chief Press Secretary to the governor.
The statement said that Dada, who was born in 1962, started his journalism career in the Niger State Ministry of Information in 1988.
“Dada left the ministry the same year to pick up appointment with NAN as a reporter,” the statement read.
It said that the newly appointed director-general was considered for the job based on recognition for his hard work, dedication and commitment to duty.
Dada, who is from Paikoro Local Government Area of the state, has a diploma from the Nigerian Institute of Journalism in 1986.
He also has a Higher National Diploma in journalism from the International Institute of Journalism in 2001and bagged a postgraduate diploma from the IIJ in 2003.
