Adeyeye warns Fayemi over destruction of , posters

Afenifere chieftain and Peoples Democratic Party governorship aspirant in Ekiti State, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, has warned the state Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, to desist from acts that are capable of causing chaos in the state.
Adeyeye alleged that in the last three days, agents of the governor have been going about destroying his billboards and posters, especially in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.
The governorship aspirant, who gave this warning in a statement on Tuesday by the Director General of his campaign organisation, Hon. Bisi Kolawole, said the All Progressives Congress government in the state should not push the people to such a level that they would begin to react violently.
He said: “Despite that there is a pending suit number HAD/35/2013 filed against the Ekiti State Signage Agency and the State Attorney-General, demanding the payment of N100 million as general damages, N2.25 million being the cost of fabrication and installation of the billboards and signposts over the wanton destruction of our billboards last April, agents of the government have been moving around, destroying our posters.
“We do not want violence in Ekiti but Fayemi and his thugs must be told in clear terms that he should not mistake our civility and humility for weakness.
“Before we embarked on pasting of our campaign posters and erecting billboards, we made sure that all requirements of the State Signage Agency were met, including payment of relevant fees.
“Therefore, there is no reason under the law that our posters and billboards should be destroyed apart from Fayemi and his dying government’s intolerant to the opposition.
“Funny enough, all posters and billboards of Fayemi and his party were not paid for and we challenge the Signage Agency to contradict this claim by providing evidence(s) of payments for Fayemi’s posters and billboards.
“Fayemi should therefore call his thugs to order, else he risks chaos in Ekiti because we may not be able to curtail the reaction of our supporters should our posters and billboards be destroyed again.”
