The Adamawa State Governor, Bala Ngilari, has described the political atmosphere in the state as stable, saying the people were happy with the delivery of justice in his case.
Ngilari, who came into office on October 8, 2014 following a court pronouncement removing the then acting Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, from office, said the political situation in the state was stable contrary to insinuations in some quarters.
Ngilari said: “The political situation in Adamawa is very stable, I can assure you.”
He told State House correspondents in Abuja shortly after a meeting of governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party with President Goodluck Jonathan from Sunday night till the early hours ofMonday, that the people of the state will never support any injustice.
Ngilari was pronounced removed from office by the state House of Assembly under the leadership of Fintiri.
This followed his alleged resignation on the day his then boss, Alhaji Murtala Nyako, was sacked from office by the state House of Assembly.
Ngilari contested his resignation, saying that the procedure of his purported resignation did not follow due process.
A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja agreed with his position and restored him to office.
Ngilari, who spoke in Abuja on Sunday, said the judgment was an injustice reversed and the people of the state were happy with this.
He said: “The people are very happy.
“You know, the common man appreciates when justice is done at all times.
“They are very happy.
“You can do your independent verification.
“All the reported noise in some quarters that heavens will fall because of my swearing-in, nothing like that has happened.
“I thank the people of Adamawa for their massive support and we promise to keep faith with them.”
Ngilari said the executive and legislative arms of the state government were not at loggerheads and added that the relationship among the three arms of government in was cordial.
Ngilari was sworn in as governor on October 8 following an order of the Federal High Court in Abuja, which voided his purported resignation.
