The Adamawa State House of Assembly on Tuesday passed a resolution directing five suspended members of the assembly who were allegedly paid severance sllowance to refund the money or face arrest.
The House plenary, presided over by the Speaker, Alhaji Ahmadu Fintiri, said the suspended lawmakers were not entitled to severance allowance.
It also said the diversion of money from the state Pension Fund meant for pensioners by the executive to pay the lawmakers was not only unfortunate but also illegal.
Meanwhile, the state Accountant-General, Augustina Wandamita, who was due to appear before the House on the alleged diversion of the pension fund to pay severance allowance, did not show up.
Wandamita, however, sent a letter to the House stating that she had gone to Abuja to honour an invitation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
The House rescheduled next Monday as the new date for the accountant-general to appear before it on the matter.
