Abubakar Bukola Saraki Football Club of Ilorin, Kwara State has been described as the best managed club in Nigeria in terms of professionalism and good vision for the development of soccer.
A member of the League Management Committee and Chief Operating Officer of the league body, Alhaji Salihu Abubakar, stated this on Friday in Abuja during the official draws for the 2012/2013 league season, which kicks off on March 9, 2013.
Abubakar, who was a former secretary of the then Professional League Department of the Nigeria Football Association, said the style of management at ABS FC is a shinning example for other clubs to emulate.
He praised the club management for its professionalism in the administration of the game, even as he urged them to keep it up.
It would be recalled that ABS FC remains the only privately-owned club in the Nigeria apex league made up of youthful footballers and recently introduced a 25-man squad, operates a functional football secretariat, functional club website and have its replica jerseys across the country for sale and the only club in Nigeria not indebted to any coach or player.
Meanwhile, the club’s General Manager, Alloy Chukwuemeka, told journalists in Abuja that the management of the club is working tirelessly to achieve the vision of the proprietor of the club, Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki, by making the club a brand for other clubs to emulate.
