The Senate on Thursday confirmed President Muhammadu Buhari’s nominees for positions on the Board of the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Top on the list of those confirmed was the nominee for the position of INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmoud Yakubu.
Five commissioners for the electoral body were also confirmed by the Senate.
They were Dr. Anthonia Okoosi Simbine, Alhaji Baba Shettima Arfo, Amina Zakari Mohammed, Mustapha Lecky and Solomon Soyebi.
They were confirmed after their screening by the Senate on Thursday.
Soyebi was the first to be screened.
