In a tragic incident, suspected hoodlums have killed a 33-year-old freelance photographer, Zacchaeus Salawadeen, after stabbing him many times in the presence of his three children.
The suspected hoodlums trailed the man to his house in Tundun Fulani Area of Minna, the Niger State capital.
There, they stabbed him to death on Tuesday night after the photographer finished his work for the day and retired home to be with his family.
He was said to have been rushed to the IBB Specialist Hospital, where he was confirmed dead on arrival.
According to one of the residents of the area, the suspected killers allegedly locked other occupants of the house in one place before breaking into Salawadeen’s flat to kill him and left with valuables such as a laptop and camera belonging to the deceased.
Confirming the incident, the spokesman of the Niger State Police Command, Wasiu Abiodun, said exhibits were recovered from the scene, while investigation has commenced.

Abiodun said: “On 27/2/2024 at about 0850hrs, it was reported at Bosso Division that on the same date at about 0330hrs, one Zacchaeus, 33yrs, of Tudun-Fulani, Minna was attacked in the house by a yet-to-be-identified person(s), who stabbed and robbed him of valuables. He was rushed to the IBB Hospital where he was confirmed dead.
“The police operatives at Bosso Division visited the scene. Some exhibits were recovered from the scene and preliminary investigation has commenced into the unfortunate incident.”
