A former Governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Kalu, has described the late President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Ralph Uwechue, as a true Igbo patriot.
Kalu, in a statement by his Special Adviser, Oyekunle Oyewumi, said Uwechue was a man who fought for the Igbo cause throughout his life.
He added: “He believed in the oneness of the Igbo race and the need to always speak with one voice in the Nigeria project.
“He never wavered, did not betray the Igbo cause and lived all his life working to actualise his dream for a more prosperous Igbo nation.”
Kalu commiserated with the family, Igboland and Nigeria in general over the death of Uwechue, whom he described as a man of character and good intents.
