Prof. AbdulGaniyu Ambali, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, has commended Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara State over the payment of bursary to indigenous students of the institution.
Ambali gave the commendation in Ilorin on Wednesday while receiving a team from the State Scholarship Board.
The team was at the university to pay the students their bursary.
The vice chancellor, who was represented by Prof. Lawal Omotesho, the Dean of Student Affairs of the university, lauded the governor’s commitment to the welfare of the state’s indigenes.
Ambali also assured the visiting team of the institution’s support to the state government.
Earlier, the Chairman of the board, Alhaji Isiaka Mogaji, had commended the management of the institution for its warm reception.
Mogaji reiterated the commitment of the state government to the development of the education sector.
Mogaji commended the university for maintaining a stable academic calendar and for its approach toward instilling discipline in students.
While assuring the management of the institution of the readiness of the board to perform its constitutional role, he urged the students to cooperate with the team to ensure the success of the exercise.
