The Lagos State government has donated two vehicles to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency to boost its operational activities in the fight against drug abuse and illicit trafficking across the state.
The vehicles donated through the Lagos State Security Trust Fund were presented to the State Commander, NDLEA Lagos State Command, Ralph Igwenagu, at the Lagos House, Alausa, Ikeja on Thursday 19th August 2021.
While presenting the vehicles on behalf of the state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Director of Administration, Lagos State Security Trust Fund, Degbola Lewis, who represented the Executive Secretary of the board, stated that the donation was in fulfillment of the state government’s promise to help security agencies in the state to fight crime and criminality.
He noted that the state government considers the NDLEA as one of the lead agencies that are in the forefront in the fight against drug abuse and illicit trafficking in the state and the country in general.
While receiving the vehicles, the State Commander , Ralph Igwenagu, thanked the state government for always supporting the agency with logistics and other sundry support.
He promised that the vehicles would be judiciously used to curb the menace of illicit drugs in all nooks and crannies of Lagos State.
