Manchester United will take a bumper payout from their run to the Champions League quarterfinals.
The Sun claimed United are set to bank a whopping £50 million jackpot despite their Champions League quarterfinal hammering at the hands of Barcelona.
Old Trafford chiefs expect around £35 million through their share of the expanded European TV rights deal alone.
In addition, glamour ties with Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and Barca saw the premium coffers ring to the tune of a further £15 million.
Ticket sales and hospitality from sold-out games at the Theatre of Dreams also factored in to the mammoth £50 million sum.
A club insider said: “The games we played this season in the competition really did capture the imagination – both on and off the field.
“It’s obviously a big amount of cash the club have earned but, as previously demonstrated it doesn’t really have a fatal impact if we aren’t in the Champions League.
“[That was] proved when we signed Paul Pogba [for £89m in 2016].”
